For NightHawks & Alley-cats

Principe Real, that runs down into a long-established eating, drinking & clubbing zone (Bairro Alto), is coming alive with new cool restaurants joining its old haunts.
«This was another lucky break for M.S. Coming up an alley, I found open shutters looking into one of the salons of the not-yet-open Pavilhão Chinês (Chinese Pavillion). One of the older, much loved, indescribably wonderful places, it's a combination of bar & tea-room, sumptuously comfortable and walls full of art works, brique à brac, etc. As you can see, this salon at the back is a games room.

La Parabrucha is an Argentinian restuarant in Rua Escola Politécnica. When I saw it standing out of the shadows in the Luzboa red zone, I thought:"Gotta shoot it, even without a tripod". It just looked like a fairy tale.

This is the entrance to a new Thai restaurant on the main street. Didn't even catch the name, so absorbed was I with taking the pics.

Below is a shot of the interior, which accidentally includes some of me showing the no-rules photographer at work. Posted by Picasa

Great pics. I love La Paparrucha and Pavilhão. More Luzboa in two years (I hope).

It does look like a fairly tale - the enterance. And the Thai restaurant - do you think the "Participate" sign has a significance?

This reply is - I hope - what we call here a rapidinha!
Meg, the significance of the sign was that the restaurant was participating in Luzboa.
T'as vu les résultats?
Carlos e Pequete, it's fabulous that people know and also appreciate these places. O Pav is really special.
And Neo, well you just have to come and sample it all....And DON'T FORGET THE CAMERA!!!
