Luzboa - Green Zone

The green zone is Chiado and Baixa (the Lower Town).
«I know Carlos (Lisbon Weekly Photo) has already posted something from this place, but I couldn't resist, Carlos!
In fact, coincidentally, this is the piazza in front of the São Carlos Theatre , a truly beautiful square. The foreground light is a small fountain. The sphere is part of the Luzboa.

«I also couldn't resist taking or posting this one, the gracious front façade of the theatre, with the umbrellas of its resuarant in the foreground. This is its usual illumination, but as I'd never shot pics around here specifically at night before (compared to hundreds in daylight), I want to include it here.

«This pair is to the right of the point at which I took the São Carlos pics, in Rua Paiva da Andrade. The lit-up lemon-coloured walls , fire escape and beyond is another theatre (Sao Luiz?). And yet another café much loved by me before it.
I think I like the green zone best, because of what is in it.

Your pictures are fantastic. The façade of the Theatre is irresistable. I took a picture too but when I saw it at home decided to take better one. And how did you managed to get the square empty?
Vivam as fotos Luzboeticas!

Oops... just one more think. It's funny cause you mentioned Fernando Pessoa in your previous post and the plate under the first lamp on the left (1st pic) marks precisely the house where he was born.

What is that sphere? Is it part of the festival only or is it always there? What is it made of??? I want one! The stairs look wonderful at night, too, though I wouldn't want to have to go up or down them in the dark.

Yep, that magic globe - I think they borrowed it from the old Brit TV series, "The Prisoner" (joking). No, it was only there for the festival, I think. I've never seen it before and if it stayed, maybe some admirer would steal it!
I don't think the public, or audiences can use those stairs. Must have been left on the building for 'aesthetics'after renovation. Very effective visually, though. I really like to play with cameratically (hmmm, new word!).
Marjan, you posted pictures taken so near mine in Chiado! You think really they would help lure the tourists?
