A Duck's Eye View of Life (3)

I am sorry. I am angry. I am tired. I have written this post about this afternoon & evening, including an update on Leonor, twice. Blogger has lost it twice. I've now seen that the 2nd text is there below, without these pictures, so I will keep it for you to read. But I will keep the following paragraph, because I like it.
It's only to tell you that when I arrived back in the hospital from Lisbon (first time in more than 3 WEEKS!), she looked at me and held her hand out, silently asking me to take it. Which I gladly did and spent the next hour until it was "Night-Night" time stroking and kissing it.
(The earlier post is more detailed. The first was the strongest of course. This Blogger can be really annoying sometimes.)

Meg, Lol, you got it! There was one picture I saw last night after the importing which really looked as if the duck was waving hello like crazy at me!

Your images remain intuitive and expressive NM, they are a joy. The ducks remind me of that saying about living life like a duck, calm and gracious above, paddling frantically to get anywhere below...

This is for Jenny by proxy [via e-mail, as she's having problems getting in to comment] (everything's possible, Sweetie!):
'I'm glad you got away for a day - watching ducks in a pond can be so soothing & cheering. They're beautiful, they're funny, and water can have such a calming, therapeutic effect!'

To which I reply: water: the wide river estuary & the ocean and all the activity going on there, or nothing at all but the waves, space and the peace that it brings are something I am missing most in the 3 months since I moved (strangely) upriver. I really only discovered the power of the ocean to calm and inspire awe in Portugal, maybe because it always looks so inviting, in its intense blues, maybe because it is so ubiquitous. Then at sundown, particularly out of summer when the sunset brings a range of other colours from ice-blue to red & purple. The ducks have long fascinated me, but yesterday was different, this idea of following them at their level. Recommended, up close.

no estuve aquí. ya volví. respiré hondo y tuve frío.

Besitos.
