And I wrote a brief update on Leonor.
And the disgraceful hospital -sorry, Joana, but I have seen enough now. People go in there sick and are then broken into submission and depression by the behaviour at every level of the staff. This is an abuse of human rights that I thought was not possible in a civilised country.
But despite everything, when I arrived back tonight at 7 pm, Leonor was more communicative (do not be misled by that word). When she saw me, she looked at me for almost the entire hour. Last night, here eyes were empty. Andmore, for the first time for ages, she raised her hand, silently asking me to hold it. Which is what I did, as well as stroking it & kissing it until it was "Night-night" time at 8 pm. But I am growing increasingly worried about the future, when the hospital will announce that it is right (for the hospital!) that she goes home. If/When that actually happens, it is going to be very much harder than before.
