Army Helicopter with Escort of Seagulls, Parque das Nações

So now I know I'm not so alone up here! Crazy, but wonderful people!
This is very short, because things are worse, it has been a hard, bad day, my firstguarding her alone for acouple of hours. Shedidn't wake up. Was weaker, further away all day. Didn't even tell her any true romances, like 2 days ago, when she smiled a lot. I just sat, staring, holding her hands, stroking her hair and urging her silently to let go of it all, go, it's alright, if you feel ready..just as I did with my own mother in her last 60 hours.
I've done as much as I can today, but I kept hitting a bloody wall called "Férias" (holidays). No Santa Casa, no Caritas, not if the Director is away - no second line of responsibility! Portugal, when are you gonna WAKE UP? The sick & dying don't have holidays!!
Only 3 'F' words? Forget it people, I've said for years that Portugal has at least 4 and Férias is as much of a doolaly cult as football, fado & Fátima ever were. August is Stop, particularly if you are ill or poor.
So I am sorry to report that I am low, down & tired. Even worse, I just tried to publish a much better post than this, introducing some of oldest, best Portuguese friends & seeing them made me feel a bit. But it seems that Blogger has also gone on holiday, taking my post with it.
Enough. This strange picture taken one grey, rainbowy Saturday last March will have to do. I kind of like it.
But I prefer my friends any time! Including you!!! Posted by Picasa

Hey NM. Knowing you're there will be calming for her and although difficult to watch, know that you are doing the good thing and that we're thinking of you and yours. Take care.

Gracias
