The Simple Things

Last Sunday, I woke with an aching, screaming need for simplicity. Sometimes we need to turn off from ourselves, but cannot, there can be no escape; with no alternative, I went looking for simple exteriors to soothe my hurting soul.
I found a huge black insect (come back Pequete & identify please!) breakfasting on a marigold in the cemetery. Remarkable when you click on it to see the rim of the bloom through the diaphanous blue wing;
I found the grieving Margarida, frozen in thought with grapes;

I found red & pink hibiscus trees in the next town along, shot red hibiscus against the intense blue sky endlessly - a contrast I'd never shot before;

And the remnants of an abandoned jetty at the river (Defective thanks to Blogger; substituted above).

I found what I had needed and was comforted by taking away these and other images with me. Photography can still take me away to where I need to be, without escape. Posted by Picasa

à chaque photo un rêve, à chaque rêve une vie complète. Tu peux reposer ton âme en regardant les choses simples et prendre d'elles l'esprit du synthèse. Rêver les yeux bien ouverts, un petit miracle :)

The insect is a carpenter bee, a species of solitary bee, Xylocopa violacea. Great shot.
