Today there is no such respite from the heat.
It is truly brutal. Is it because of what we have done? I honestly believe so.
Nature is power, not all beauty; it has the capacity to strike back, to remind us, if we care to heed, who & what we are - how small, how transient, how vulnerable, in our lust for more, for easier.
How superficial we can be! How complacent, how arrogant, how wasteful, how ignorant!
If only we could just know our place in the whole scheme, slow down, contemplate it more, be less afraid of ourselves and every nightmare scenario & ghost we keep trying to run away from.
So, what has all that to do with these images?

Except that I only know that I have to keep seeing beauty, in whatever form it takes - and these images for me bear some testimony to that, nothing more.
The ugly sides, the dark sides confront us all too easily and I don't fail to see them too, or experience the abstract versions. But I cannot live with them alone.
I truly wish that we could be content to just be part of our whole natural environment - its beauties and its beasts - instead of being bent on mastering it all.
And ultimately destroying it all.

You will never live with them alone. It's something we all do, thinking we're alone, not knowing there's someone who feels the same way standing right next to us.
keep seeing the beauty. you know it exists. you show us every time you post a picture and this post of yours I'll remember for a while to come. thank you now and here.
Sometimes we could all do better just by being more sensitive to who's standing in front of us. there is a lot concealed pain & damage out there, untreated.
Thanks Edwin, appreciated!
