"Come on the.............Bingo?????.."

This is it, Alvalade XXI, home to the World's largest open-air bingo arena.

As we can see, the 42,500-capacity palace of "sport" is well-served by its own transport infrastructure, with metro & excellent road links to all parts of the country, by means of which thousands of bingo fans can be delivered by bus almost without having to walk 2 steps.

As bingo matches are not yet televised, attendance at the stadium is strong, with chants of "LINHA-LINHA-LINHA!" reported to have been heard as far away as Ericeira, when the wind is blowing in the right direction, whenever a line is completed.
