3 Giants Disappeared in 48 Hours, 11-13 June 2005

Dear Reader,
I am devastated by my own petty loss. Twice in the last 90 minutes I have written and lost the accompanying text to my 3 photos here, thanks to the apologetic Blogger.
I cannot do it again, and I hope I have your understanding and sympathy.
If you do not know these 3 men, I will simply tell you their names, so you can go do your own research as to their immense importance to this country in the last century.

« Vasco Gonçalves (shot by me at 25th April parade, 30th anniversary in 2004)
«Álvaro Cunhal, his left eye in the deepest red that coloured his whole adult life, as I chose to macro-focus and tint this old picture of him as a young man.

......This time I find that the 3rd picture, a representation of Eugénio de Andrade, has failed to load.
I am really sad about this wasted time, because it was of such significance to me. Not to write obituaries. I wanted to describe what I witnessed & felt at the funeral of one of these men. It happens to be of great importance to me............ Posted by Picasa

It's really a pity that you couldn't load Eugenio's pic. But still your post is full of significance to me. And that's because of the importance and the mistics around the names of these 3 men. And their hability to change Portugal and the way people see things for the best and worst.
Well, cheers and thak you for these moments of saudade for these 3 men and great photographic subjects, each of each type. But the best for me is Cunhal's eye: unforgetable!

Thanks for your comment Pedro. I will post just that symbolic representative picture, no text, in a moment. And me too, I'm fascinated by that red eye!
But I am still very upset by what happened, wrong time/day/period.
I am too sensitive and vulnerable at the moment to have lost that text, believe me.
I cannot so easily be robbed of something I "create". consequently, I am sriously considering stopping this, because it doesn't seem worth it
