A Decade On.....

Tuesday 16 May 2006 marked my 10th anniversary here. The lunch with my friend João was not arranged to commemorate this landmark event, it was pure coincidence. I had first met João on 17 May 1996, though the fact that this was also 10 years ago had nothing to do with the lunch. João simply wanted to introduce me to an extraordinary place to have a good, cheap lunch in the lower Chiado. I had never heard of it before, and the fact is, if you don't know where the entrance is, you probably won't find it. It's on a second floor, it has an interior dining-room, but it also has a superb terrace, where we ate. It is run by a Catholic association, you eat well (lunches only) and you can have the magnificent view that it visible behind João. Sadly, neither he nor I like this picture of him very much, but it doesn't matter. It was a lunch that made a memorable day better for me than I had expected, given the turbulence in my life surrounding this 10th anniversary. So, just to say Thanks so much, João!
Now, can you find it? I promised I wouldn't tell anyone............It's not a bad secret to keep. Posted by Picasa
