Portugal À Rufar 2006 (2)

The 3rd and final day of the 2nd edition of Portugal À Rufar culminated at the Quinta da Fidalga, Arrentela on the Baia de Seixal, with all of the different bands from all over Portugal and elsewhere, various stages, great performances, drummers and musicians everywhere and a lot of noise.

This little boy couldn't resist trying it out for himself when he thought nobody was watching (wrong, of course!)

The fantastic band from Amarante (incredibly LOUD, when they turned up the volume!) going on a walkabout in the grounds of the Quinta.

I couldn't stay until the finale on the big stage and the fireworks, and I myself had to resist the call for volunteers from the audience to go pick up a drum and learn how to be a Rufina. Within 2 minutes, the brilliant Henda (in black, in the centre) had 100 virgin drummers sounding more or less like they had been drumming for years, in time with each other!
A truly great day out. I strongly recommend it for next year. Posted by Picasa
